Multiband clipping with perfect auto-gain
Instead of a regular clipper, the Laidback Limiter features a unique multiband clipper with perfect auto-gain. This means you can clip each of the four frequency bands while automatically retaining the loudness and tonal balance of your track. This makes clipping different frequency regions of your track extremely easy and intuitive. In addition, each clipper features an attack control to let through the transients, a release control to smooth out the clipping distortion, and a stereo link control to shape the behaviour of the clipper in the stereo field. Combined, the plugin’s multiband clipper lets you pre-clip your track with surgical precision.
Loudness maximization
After pre-clipping your track with the plugin’s multiband section, you can mix in the pre-clipped signal as it enters the maximize stage. The dry signal and clipped wet signal are perfectly phase-aligned internally, to make sure the multiband section doesn’t cause any phase issues. You can then use the boost control to push your track into the plugin’s powerful brickwall limiter, increasing your track's loudness. The maximize section offers a lookahead, a release, a transients, a knee, and a ceiling control to adjust the behaviour of the brickwall limiter and reduce any limiting artefacts. The unique combination of the plugin’s multiband and maximize section allows you to create extremely loud masters in no time.
